The hollow ball version is only 5:2 in the case of a "perfectly hollow" ball. That is, a ball where the outer edge is infinitely thin. As the outer edge gets thicker the period should approach that of a solid ball. In practical terms forces like air resistance are going to massively overpower any difference between say a ping pong ball and the ideal case.

Idk if anyone else mentioned this yet but the same thing about bubbles occurs in a cup of rootbeer after its just been poured in. The bubbles are filled up and very slowly popping n such. But if you just very lightly touch any spot of the top of the bubbles, it will cause a chain reaction of all the bubbles popping rapidly.

see I'd say the bit on the compass that is marked "N" is actually a "south pole" , because well it's attracted to the North Pole of the Earth ! Just depends what way around you want to look at it ;)

it would be interesting if someone managed to turn this into a computer. it's certainly doable. you have energy traveling a somewhat predictable path and pace and you have opportunities to include logic gates. it may not be the most capable computer, but with enough fiddling over enough generations, i'm sure someone could turn it into a worthy project

Hello! I am going to criticize 3:15 . According to my chemist teacher, you should never put your nose right above anything that you are smelling, because you can lose your smelling. She says "try to use your hand to agitate the air from above the lid towards your nose instead of puting your nose directly above it".
